Yes, it would have been wonderful if more people joined in. But we will do it again, and give people more notice. It was such a great experience and we had people of all levels join in.

What a great ending to an otherwise frantic day. I was very happy to meet one of our newest members, June. Lets all encourage June to open a dedicated gf cafe! : ) I also learned that Natalie's family lives very close to me. We can learn so much from Natalie as her family strives to go grain free! Yep, not just gluten-free but grain-free. I am inspired to learn more about the benefits of going grain-free. Is anyone else out there grain-free?

It was very nice to meet and share information with the people facing similar lifestyle challenges. Bringing own food was a great idea. DeAnna was very informative and knows a many GF places in town. I can't wait for the next meeting.

It was such a nice day for a picnic. The park was a big contrast to meeting in noisy restaurants. We could actually hear each other. : ) And thank heaven because I really want to get to know everyone better. Can't wait to see you all again.

Lala's Wine Bar was a fabulous place to host a meetup for our gluten free group. Erin, the manager, was informative and extremely accommodating with the various levels of our gluten intolerance. The food was fabulous, the atmosphere bustling and fun, and it was great to talk with other people who live gluten free. I look forward to eating at Lala's very soon!

Thanks for putting this together Tracy! I finally had a chance to get to know Tracy better, and meet Lynn for the first time. The area is very nice with great parking. After lunch Tracy, and I went next door to talk with the cupcake bakery. They have gf cupcakes but cross contamination is a very big concern. However, they are interested in earning our communities business, so hopefully the owner will contact me and we can get them on the right track. I will keep you posted. Also, Tracy gave me the biz card of another bakery that does gf, I will find out "how gf" they are and disseminate what I learn. Thanks Tracey!

Food was awesome. I love going to a restaurant and not having to ask a million question. I knew everything was safe to eat and it made me feel like a normal person going out to dinner.

Wow! I am so impressed with Vesta Dipping Grill. They really knocked my socks off. They even arranged to have Free Choice Foods stop by and give us free product! Oh, and they brought in Udi's gf bread. It was amazing. The company was great also! I laughed so much my face hurt.

The Manager, Staff, taste of the food and its presentation were the best I remember ever haveing. iamgf had the menu specially planned for us, with lots of options. The sauces for dipping all exploded with flavor. My vegetarian dish was beautiful and delicious. Did I say the sauces were good?? They were so good and each of us had our favorites. They even brought in the owner of Free Choice Foods who spoke with us about their Gluten Free line of foods and gave us gift bags with samples. They look so good I can't wait to fix the dishes and give them feedback.

Meeting with other gluten-free/intolerant/celiacs was a good experience. Kind of like a support group. Discussing the similar challenges we've had with adapting to this diet was helpful. I realized that it is for my own good to be assertive about my dietary restrictions when eating out or at a social event. I have a tendency to not want to be a bother. I often allow the questioning of others to convince me that I am exagerating the effects of gluten. It is hard sometimes to really know what is the truth because there is not a strict guideline for labeling or a standardized test. The only way you can really know if there is gluten in something is to feel the reaction in your own body. And no one with celiac wants to do that on purpose.

It was good to hear all the stories about how everyone found out their kid had an allergy. It is so stressful when you know something is not right but no one else seems to be worried. Thanks for coming over to share and play!

What a variety of people we had at this last meetup, it was great! Just goes to show, whether your Celiac, gluten-free, or just want to support someone in your life, this group will work. We have so much to learn from each other.
